Maths
Edexcel - A Level
A Level Mathematics provides a thorough grounding in the mathematical tools
and techniques often needed in the workplace. It provides a foundation for further
studies in a variety of subjects including Construction, Science and Engineering
subjects. The logic and reasoning skills developed by studying A Level Mathematics
ensures the qualification is widely respected, even in non-mathematical areas.

Assessment through three 2-hour
papers.
Two-year Course
Year 1 and Year 2 consist of Pure,
Statistics and Mechanics.
These topics are part of the Pure Mathematics content, which form the fundamental
building blocks of the subject – this is worth two-thirds of the qualification. Applied
Mathematics makes up the remaining one-third of the qualification. This is split into
Statistics and Mechanics, which include topics such as Hypothesis Testing and
Variable Acceleration respectively.
Further Maths
Edexcel - A Level
A Level Further Mathematics is a unique qualification which allows students to
stand out in any employment or university application process. This course must
be taken in parallel with A Level Mathematics. Students looking to study degrees
in STEM subjects or work in STEM fields would benefit significantly by studying
A Level Further Mathematics.
The course includes compulsory Core Pure Mathematics content and a choice of
two optional modules. The Core Pure content accounts for 50% of the qualification,
with the optional modules making up the remaining 50%.

This qualification, designed with input from higher education and industry experts,

The course covers the core elements of IT systems and security, exploring the
relationship between hardware and software and how to protect against cyber
threats. You will also develop practical skills in website development and managing
data using relational databases.
